Videos of building the Weekender II Pocket Yacht, in a garage in Largo FL. Design based on the Skipjacks of Chasepeak Bay, MD. Hull shape: Bateau. Designers Mike and Pete Stevenson, URL stevproj.com

Plans and DVD were ordered March 5th, 2010 and came about 10 days later. A few parts were built in April, 2010 (See video #1). Then I had an accident and broke my right leg, and spent all of May getting on my feet again. Consequently, most of the build occured after graduating from a walker to a cane and acquiring some help from Mr. John Custer (See videos 2, 3, 4 & 8). Most of the build occured betweeen June 1st, 2010, through November 22th, 2010 just before my youngest son's wedding. Then holidays, family events and followup surgery to remove the hardware in my leg delayed construction in December, 2010 and January, 2011. Weather discouraged boat work in February.

The boat was finally completed March 9th, 2011 with the application of the name on the stern (See video #7) by my new daughter-in-law. The boat was first launched March 13th, at the Bay Pines Veterans Memorial Park in St. Petersburg FL (See video #8)
