| Top Rail / Rub Rail, October 27, 2010 Rails are laminated with four 7/16 strips. A solid piece just would not make the bend ... at least for me.

| Top Rail Jig, October 27, 2010 The whole jig was 16 feet long. This is only a partial view with a finished rail behind the jig.

| Sides Ready!, October 27, 2010 Finally! All the interior work is done. Even the dead spaces are filled with floatation foam and it's carpeted. At this point, the deck has five coats of varnish. I expect to add at least two more before it's done.

| Used Trailer, Oct. 24, 2010 I found a used trailer for $500. It's set up for a flat bottom jon boat. I will have to change the bunk set up but otherwise it's sound with decent 13 inch wheels. I'm planning a keel guide trough in the middle with "Y" rails at the back to guide the keel into the center slot. We'll see how that goes ...

| Ready for Chine Tape, Nov. 2, 2010 The sides got fitted and screw holes filled in. Then friends came over and helped me flip the boat. A week later it was sanded and some primer paint applied to areas not destine for fiber glass. The chines were taped with six inch fiber glass and three to one epoxy resin.

| Hull Ready for Fiberglass, Nov. 7, 2010 I decided to fit the glass cloth dry and then wet it. I'm glad I did! I must have spent three hours fiddling with the cloth fitting. I would have been in trouble if I had tried that with epoxy setting up!
The stern has a bracket for a "sacrificial fin." It protects the built in trolling motor (not yet installed). I'll write up that modification later when I see how well it actually worked.

| Hull Glassed & Painted, Nov. 11, 2010 From a bare plywood hull: 1) Penetrating Epoxy, 2) 6 oz. Glass cloth, 3) Laminating Epoxy, 4) Finish Laminating Epoxy, 5) Two coats latex primer, 6) Two coats latex finish color paint. Eight layers! Now it's ready to turn the boat upright again.

| Turn Over - 1 , Nov. 13, 2010 Three friends came over on Saturday to turn the boat for me.
