Weekender Parts Assembly
Milestone Day !!, August 14, 2010
Yeah! We assembled some parts into a 3 dimensional object ... looks like a boat! In this view you can see how the bead board is working out. The deck is not attached but the main parts are in place. Now comes a lot of detail work. Oh yeah, I moved the cabin bulkhead forward to all more seating area.
Weekender Bulkheads Side View
Hull Side View, August 14, 2010
Here on "Milestone" day you can see the relative size of the boat versus the mini van. Boats are weird, they are big on land but small in the water. This one is bigger than my car but it will seem tiny out on the Gulf of Mexico only three miles from the house.
Weekender Steering Setup Composite
Steering Setup, August 25, 2010
My own version of the steering setup. I didn't like u-bolts through the hull. Otherwise, I'm making up for errors of my own ...
Emergency Loo bucket for a boat
Emergency Use Only!, August 25, 2010
Got it from Cabelas Camper Supply. Emergency use only please! The toilet lid fits a standard five gallon paint bucket. I got mine at Lowe's.
Hul Progress - 1, Sept. 18, 2010
Progress! So far, I've been able to compensate for all my mistakes. Got the port seat and splash guard installed. It actually is starting to look good ... in spite of me!
Hull Progress - 2, Sept. 18, 2010
-Another view of the hull progress. This shows a bit more detail.
Hull Progress - 3, Sept. 18, 2010
View from aft. It is really starting to look good.
Built In Cooler, Sept. 18, 2010
I moved the cabin bulkhead about a foot toward the bow so I decided the box could go in the cockpit. Then I decided it would be insulated and keep drinks in it. Repair tools and parts will go into string tie bags on hooks in the cabin. (Like my solution?)
